Hot air Baloon

An aerial desert delight, take to the sky with a hot air balloon and see the desert from a new perspective.

No two flights are ever the same, so where you’ll fly and what you’ll see - be it the desert meeting the Atlantic Ocean or the natural beauty of the Namib Desert - it’s all up to the wind.

How it works: Pick up from Giardino for a 45 minute to 1-hour flight followed by a champagne breakfast and return to hotel.

Catamaran Sailing

Experience all the splendid riches the Atlantic Ocean has to offer. A stylish exploration of the Marine Big 5 where seals and pelicans come onboard for breakfast This adventurous and educational cruise sails along the beautiful lagoon area, passing oyster farms, shipwrecks, seal colony and the lighthouse on Pelican Point. It's a perfect outing for all ages. Complimentary snackplatters, fresh oysters, sparkling wine, coffee & tea, bottled water & assorted drinks.

How it works: 08h30 meet up at the Walvisbay Waterfront for a half day excursion.

Living Dunes Tour

A unique 4x4 adventure drive through the dunes just outside Swakopmund where you will get a first hand introduction to some of the most fascinating, hidden life in this barren landscape. The living desert tour with your enthusiastic guide Tommy is educational, fun and an unforgettable experience – for the whole family. After this tour you will see the desert and dunes in new eyes.

SKYDIVING

Tandem Skydive over the oldest desert in the world - take a scenic flight up into clear blue skies and see how the ocean meets the Namib Desert sand dunes. The aircraft doors open and you jump attached to a world-class qualified tandem instructor, free falling at 200km/h. Experience the feeling of human flight after which the instructor opens the parachute where you fly over the namib desert for about 7 minutes before touching down on mother earth.

You can select one of 3 options depending on the time you want to free fall 60/45/35 seconds.

How it works: Pick up from hotel, and have the biggest adrenaline adventure of your life.

QUAD-BIKING

Experience the sheer thrill of riding a quad bike through Namibia’s boundless expanse of shifting sand dues. After the engines are revved up and ready to roll, an experienced guide will lead you through the Swakopmund River mouth into the dune belt where you can feel the freedom of riding through one of nature’s great wildernesses.

There is a variety of timeslots which you can choose from to fit your schedule.

How it works: Depart from the Adventure Center – within walking distance from the hotel.

FISHING

Spend a relaxed day shore surf fishing along the Skeleton Coast. Target species of the day will be edible fish as we aim to prepare a casual beach fish BBQ with what nature provides that day. Our guide assists clients with bait presentation, casting and coaching; therefore, no prior fishing experience is required to do this tour.

How it works: Guests are collected from Giardino, morning is spend fishing followed by a basic afternoon Beach fish BBQ.

SAND BOARDING

Love snowboarding – you’ll love this – if not more.
Enjoy a full morning activity boarding the perfect dune with six different faces at a towering height of 100 meters, You can choose to lie down or stand up – both can be enjoyed by either experienced or inexperienced boarders.

How it works: Pick up from Giardino and drive 11 km into the desert. Light lunch and drinks included.

SANDWICH HARBOR

Where the Desert and Ocean meet – well sort off. This astonishing landscape consists of a dune belt which runs all along the Namibian coastline forming the ‘Skeleton Coast’. This is one of the few untouched places on earth, where beautiful dunes have to be crossed to get to Sandwich Harbour. If weather and tides allow, we will drive right to the Sandwich Harbour Lagoon, one of Southern Africa’s richest and unique wetlands. Wedged between the sea and the Namib Dunes, potable water seeping from the underground aquifer sustains the freshwater vegetation at the base of the dunes.

How it works: You can choose either a half day or full day excursion and includes sparkling wine, oysters and some snacks.

Witness the extravagant beauty of the Sossuslvei dunes from above.

Departing from Swakopmund and fly over the barren Namib Desert, the Kuiseb Canyon as well as the Tsondab vlei till you reach the well-known Sossusvlei with its colour rich dune landscape. Flying back over the restricted Diamond Area where you will see three deserted diamond camps, a few cape seal colonies and shipwrecks such as the Eduard Bohlen and the Shawnee. After which your flight passes Sandwich Harbour, the salt mines south of Walvis Bay, the Walvis Bay harbour as well as the holiday resort Langstrand.

How it works: Depart from Swakopmund Charter Office and is just over 2 hours long.

TOWNSHIP TOUR

An educational trip for the whole family, meet the grassroots community of Mondesa Township created in the 1950’s for the Black people by the South African Apartheid Regime. Today 27 years later a Melting Pot of Diverse Ethic Cultures that welcomes you warmly.

How it works: Pick up from hotel, where you will walk through the townships with your dedicated guide.

TOPNAAR DESERT TRIBE

An interesting afternoon excursion, which enables guests to experience the fascinating history of "Namibia’s forgotten people" - the Desert Topnaar. A clan of the Nama People who settled in the Kuiseb river during the 1820’s. Drive through the desert, stopping at historic sites like the church in the desert which was built in 1845 by the Rhenish missionary Heinrich Scheppmann, from there, guests proceed to a lookout point to enjoy a selection of oysters, snacks and drinks.

How it works: Midday departure from Walvisbay waterfront

CAMEL RIDES

This might not be camels in the Savana but a Namib Desert Camel rides is a once in a lifetime experience. This is a unique and amazing tour suitable for all age groups, families with small children to senior citizens.

OCEAN KAYAKING – PELICAN POINT

Kayak among a colony of tens of thousands of Cape fur seals at the tip of Pelican Point were we regularly encounter Heaviside’s and Benguela Dolphins. During our 4x4 drive to our Kayaking site, we get to see the Walvis Bay wetlands with plenty of birds including flamingos and pelicans, and the salt mine which is one of the biggest in the world. Our seals are very playful and love to interact with our kayaks.
